Wedding guest jewellery: what to wear to the mehendi, sangeet and reception
8 November 2026

Three functions, four outfits, one suitcase and a cousin who will definitely notice if you repeat anything. Here is how to plan your jewellery for wedding season without buying a new set for every event.
Haldi and mehendi: playful and light
Day functions, bright colours, a lot of sitting on floor cushions. Go for light, joyful studs: Fuchsia Bloom, Ivory Bloom or Lagoon Trinity. Skip bracelets at the mehendi, unless you want them decorated too.
Sangeet: you will be dancing
Pick pieces with movement that will not fly off mid-choreography. The Midnight Petal Cascade or the Verdant Prism Drops catch the light without becoming a hazard.
Wedding and reception: the big night
This is heirloom-drama territory. The Gilded Mesh Medallions or the Obsidian Empress Bracelet look grand enough for a lehenga and modern enough for a cocktail saree.
The re-wear trick
Pack one hero earring in gold-tone and one crystal bracelet. Change everything else around them. Same earrings with a different hairstyle and neckline read as a whole new look, and nobody but you will know.
Pack smart
- One pouch per piece, so nothing tangles in transit.
- Put jewellery on after hair and make-up are done (and the hairspray has settled).
- Keep a microfibre cloth in your clutch for a quick wipe before photos.
Quick answers
What jewellery should I wear to a sangeet?
Earrings with some movement that are secure enough for dancing, such as a light cascade or a structured drop, plus at most one bracelet.
How can I re-wear jewellery across wedding functions?
Choose one hero earring and one bracelet, then change the hairstyle, neckline and outfit around them. The same pieces read differently each time.
What should guests wear to a mehendi?
Light, colourful studs work best. Skip bracelets during the mehendi itself.
